How to activate your basket abandonment emails

To configure your basket abandonment emails, all you have to do is access your Giftpro admin area and enable your email settings. With just a few simple clicks, you can personalise the email content and choose how often they are sent.

You must be using GiftproPay powered by ClearAccept to enable this feature.

1 - Login to Giftpro

Login to the Giftpro admin area.

Once you’re logged in locate the Basket abandonment email section by clicking ‘Settings’ in the main navigation bar and then clicking on Basket abandonment email.

2 - Activate basket abandonment emails

Click the tick box to 'Activate basket abandonment emails'.

When the settings appear, you'll notice that you can now edit the email frequency, subject line and body of the email.

3 - Set your time delay

Choose in minutes how long after the customer has abandoned their basket you would like to send them an email. We usually advise upwards of 30mins (1 hour being the sweet spot), but you can specify any time you like.

4 - Add a subject line

Now time to write something to entice your customers back to buy. Simply add your subject line into the input field and move onto the final step.

  • Your basket is waiting

  • Finish your purchase

  • You left items in your basket

  • Complete your purchase

  • You left something behind

  • We saved your basket for you

  • Looks like you left something behind

  • We’re here to help you complete your order

  • We think you left something behind

  • Reminder: there are items in your basket

  • Looks like you may have forgotten something...

5 - Add body content

After you've enticed the customer to open the email with your engaging subject line, you should write something a little more descriptive in the body of the email to get them to complete their purchase.

Once you've completed these steps, simply hit save and you're all set.
